MIND and Tech Ltd. established in 2019. It was supported by TSSSU funding from HKBU in 2019-2022 and is now admitted to Incu-tech program at HKSTP in July 2021. It is an innovative biotechnology company developing novel magnetic nanoparticle-based tools for Medical Imaging and Nano Diagnostics. Our company provides a cost-effective, simple, direct yet sensitive platform for early neurodegenerative diseases detection and diagnostics.

Recently, we are focusing on the development of a set of Alzheimer's disease biomarkers detection kits including beta-amyloid (1-42), beta-amyloid (1-40), total-tau (441) protein and phosphate-tau (181) protein for laboratory use. Benefiting from our designed fluorophore, it is an ultra-highly sensitive and non-invasive validate test for biomarkers-related disease in trace amounts of several body fluids including CSF, blood, saliva and urine. It can apply as a screening tool to detect and diagnose Alzheimer's disease in an early stage.

Over 50 millions of people in the world are living with dementia, as more people tend to live into the old age, the patient number is expected to triple by 2050. Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most prevalence cause of dementia and accounts for two thirds of the cases. Until now, there is no treatment available to halt or reverse the underlying pathology of AD, only early diagnosis and treatment are the best chance to ameliorate the symptoms of this devastating disease.

To provide a solution for early Alzheimer's disease diagnosis by developing an Affordable, Sensitive, Specific, User-friendly, Rapid and Robust, Equipment-free and Deliverable (ASSURED) point-of-care tool for population-wide screening of Alzheimer's disease and a dual-model contrast agent for AD-associated biomarker imaging for Alzheimer's disease diagnosis.
